Title:Cyclamen Party

Description: Each cyclamen petal, leaf and stem in this piece began life as glass powder (same size and consistency of talc), which was kiln fired to make individual components, which were then cold worked and fired again to create plant assemblies and then fired a final time to create the 'Cyclamen Party" . Unlike real cyclamens, these ones will not fade or suffer from over-watering!

Due to the nature of the process, this piece is a one-off, but further Cyclamen creations can be made to order.

The stand is untreated and unpainted wrought iron, which gives a contemporary feel. Price includes packaging and DPD delivery to mainland UK.

Whether a humble grouping of handpicked blossoms gathered from one of the flower beds and placed in an old pot, or a careful arrangement immortalized in a still life painting, they brighten our day. This “Bouquet for the Table” represents the former. It is the result of a wander through the studio picking up lamp worked beads and twisties, v

Title:Pink Rose bursting forth.

Description: This is a gentle curving shallow dish. The piece combines an outer ring with splashes of colour and a central rose made using a freeze cast technique. The combination has been fired 'under pressure' using heavy weights to flatten the molten glass producing a piece with a fine lip (1.5mm). The bubbles within the glass ( some of which have surfaced on the lip) give a sense of movement as the rose unfurls.

Title:Polypodiophyta

Description: I created this piece from studies of Ferns in my garden over lockdown. I am drawn to the movement, the unfurling and the layering of the fronds as well as the different textures that are on the surface of the leaves. "Polypodiophyta" comes from many photographs and sketches taking elements of the Ferns that I am fascinated by and reconstructing them together by creating my own Murine in our hot glass studio, cutting them by hand then contracting them together in the flat bed kiln to fuse in to a large scale panel. The panel is then uv bonded to clear float glass and professionally framed. For more information please email me at amy@emglass.co.uk

Description: A symmetrical floral geometric design in spring shoot and flower colours, the trapped air bubbles glisten like dew within.

Many stages go into making this bowl. Air trap tiles are individually made by kiln fusing,
then precisely trimmed to fit together and fused again into a round plate. That plate is further fired to drop out slump into an elegant parabolic shape. Careful watch has to be kept during this firing to ensure the right degree of slump is attained. Finally the edge is trimmed and cold worked.

Title:Winter Trees

Description: In this piece, I aim to translate the fragility of nature in this representation of winter trees.

I created branches lines using glass frits, adding layer over layer by firing and fusing glass using different fire schedules.

The result is a mix of abstraction exploring colours, texture and movement while maintaining the overall perception of a winter landscape.

The piece is complemented by drift wood, to symbolise the connection to the raw state of trees but also to describe the various phases that the material has endured over time, being shaped to the current form.

For more information please email me at amy@emglass.co.uk

then precisely trimmed to fit together and fused again into a round plate.
