We are pleased to announce that we are building a dedicated team of leaded light glaziers to work on the conservation of Manchester’s prestigious Town Hall. Shepley Engineers Ltd are consulting
with Reyntiens Glass Studio Ltd to set up a new Manchester Workshop. Both have extensive experience in restoring renowned buildings around the country and are recruiting varying levels of
experience.

Job Advert- Trainee Glazier
Requirements
Experience of some sort in workshop / trade environment. Glazing experience preferred but not required, a desire/interest to build a career in a glazing trade is preferable. The view is that whilst
the candidate may not have a previous knowledge of specific glazing processes, they will have the technical abilities to learn techniques on the job supported by skilled glaziers. Operatives will need
a CSCS card to work on site, other training will be given.

The role will be allocated following a trial
to assess the qualities and technical abilities of the applicant.
Role will involve
- Chipping out windows on site
- Manouvering, handling and packing windows on-site and in workshop
- Dismantling leaded windows
- Cleaning leaded windows
- Cementing leaded windows
- Polishing leaded windows
- Installing leaded windows
Where
Role will be based at two Manchester locations, either on site or in the workshop dependant on the workload requirements. There is also potential that some work will be carried out at our partner
workshop in Sheffield, if you are based in Sheffield or are willing to travel between please let this be known in your application.
Full Time Position
The projects programme is Jan 2021 through to May 2022.
