Theme:

In 2022, the Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) celebrates 25 years since its foundation as the principle supporter and promoter of artists and collectors of contemporary glass in the UK. It now has over 1,000 members both nationally and internationally. To continue the celebration of this landmark anniversary and to raise awareness of the glory of contemporary glass, CGS is delighted to be working with the Craft Centre & Design Gallery in Leeds as the venue where we will be displaying glass art work from CGS members but with a special emphasis from members based in the northern area of England.  The exhibition is open to all members at any stage of their career and is unselected with all work for sale.

The aim of the “Glorious Glass” exhibition is to demonstrate how utterly glorious and amazing contemporary glass is so that everyone can appreciate and enjoy its magical colours, textures, use of light and variety of techniques and also discover their own local glass artists.  The work displayed will feature as wide a range of techniques as possible.

Information:  Depending on the size and nature of the work submitted we aim to select approximately 30 artists and to show a cross section of glass making techniques.  The exhibition will be split equally into 2 parts, each featuring around 15 artists.

The choice of how the entries are programmed into the exhibition will be decided by the gallery and CGS.

Three pieces of work can be submitted per artist. You can submit up to 1 image of each piece.

The work will be displayed in secure cases at the Craft Centre & Design Gallery in Leeds.
