Glass Engraving Classes at Morley College with Katharine Coleman MBE

There are still some spaces available on the Monday morning weekly glass engraving classes, running this coming term from January 7th to March 25th (Spring Term, half term February 18th) and April 29th to July 8th (Summer Term, half term June 10th ). The studio at Morley College is equipped with engraving lathes (diamond and stone wheels), micromotors and pendant drills, also hand tools, diamond and stone burs, polishing equipment. Suits all levels of experience and ability.

The course follows a series of weekly topics with notes provided by the tutor and a slide talk. This coming term we shall be addressing: relief engraving, design considerations for glass engraving, sourcing tools and glass, battuto and surface textures, lettering on glass, architecture, heraldry and photographing engraved glass. The summer term focuses on engraving on coloured and colour overlaid glass.
