Liz Waugh McManus
Liz is a multidisciplinary artist exploring boundaries between analogue and digital making with an art practice that embraces sculpture, glass, puppetry, video and new media. She produces work for exhibition/galleries and also undertakes public and private commissions. Creating the sense of a living presence is an important thread running through the work, whether achieved through animation, performance or in sculptural form.
Liz is completing practice-based doctoral research at the University of Sunderland, Towards an Internet of glass things, exploring traditional glass techniques and the use of microcontrollers to create interactive objects which allude to narratives (global issues, biographical experience, microhistories, traditional tales).
