Sandy Horton

Sandy originally trained in textiles and education, but later pursued her interest in architectural stained glass. She undertook postgraduate studies at Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design where she was awarded the William De Morgan Prize for Glass, and was also shortlisted for the Pizza Express Contemporary Art Prize. Sandy collaborated with students at The City of London Academy to commemorate the Great Fire of London and win The Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers Award ,

Sandy moved to Cornwall permanently five years ago and works from her studio near Looe. She works directly with the glass responding to the light, patterns and ever-changing palette of the Cornish coastline. She enjoys working with colour, but also texture and relief formed by the layering of different glasses and various fusing techniques.
Sandy savours every aspect of glass and create freestanding and wall art together with a range of fused glass jewellery and gift items.
