Emma White

Originally self taught, for the first four years I worked fusing and kiln-forming Bullseye glass. During 2018 I took a few short glass courses at the University of Hertfordshire. Which gave me the opportunity to create larger glass work panels and to begin kiln forming my larger glass work. I have spent the last couple of years sand casting glass. I had begun glassblowing. Unfortunately covid has made this impossible. So i have been glass polishing an designing new works with this in mind. Once again this is making my work evolve once again. The encouragement from family, friends and the artists community. Have enabled me to be confident in moving forward with my creative adventure.

I create abstract glass art both 2D and 3D. I love to use colours, plus other materials within my glass work, to obtain both expected and unexpected reactions. During 2019 I began exploring organic substances within my glass work. This has led to myself creating a series that I am still yet to complete. Due to being in isolation during lockdown whilst unable to get to the studios. I have been painting on canvas. I am hoping that lots of this acrylic and oil work will be translated into glass at a later date. Three of my most recent paintings are currently being exhibited with The Arts project London. We usually have the exhibition space at St Pancras hospital conference centre gallery. But this years has been moved to virtual online exhibition. We all look forward to when we can get back to the gallery space.
