Jess Davids

Jess is a glassblowing artist, based in Manchester, who is often inspired by the natural world. She graduated from De Montfort University in 2018 and then went onto be Artist in Residence for the following academic year. Her current work focuses on the Incalmo technique.

My designs originate from a fascination with the ocean and the powerful forces of nature. The waves rise, fall and crash as it reshapes the land to its will. I imagine these motions as I apply my design to the pieces. Drawn to the sea, with red flags that warn of danger, recreating the exhilaration of working with glass.
