Katharine Coleman MBE

Wheel and drill engraver on glass, taught by Peter Dreiser at Morley College 1984-7. Happy to teach short workshops with the Guild of Glass Engravers and CGS etc. Member of Contemporary Applied Arts, Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers, elected member of The Art Workers Guild. Always interested in collaborative work with glass makers and to hear from glass blowers who are confident overlay artists working with lead crystal.

Working on clear and colour overlaid glass, blown to my design by Potter Morgan, glass engraving no longer needs to be traditional in style or content. Recent solo shows: Scottish Gallery Edinburgh 2008, 2011, Galerie Helene Poree, Paris 2009 & 2012. ‘Collect’ (Scottish Gallery) 2009,2010,2011, (Adrian Sassoon) 2012, 2013, 2014, also TEFAF 2011,2012,2013,2014. Coburger Glaspreis (2006, hon mention prize, and exhibited 2014). Public collections: V&A, Corning USA, Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg, National Museums of Scotland (see website for full list).
