Janine Altman

Janine Altman was born in Uruguay. Studied painting, jewellery and fused glass as a child. In 2001 created her atelier to start an artistic journey. Works with fused glass, flameworking, pate de verre and “Openwork Glass”, a technique she developed, consists in small pieces of glass bound by metal threads. Her work has abstract and geometrical shapes that converge in a unique style, as eclectic as avant-garde. She has participated in multiple exhibitions and fairs, as Este Arte International Art Fair, Carrousel Du Louvre, Artexpo New York and Spectrum Miami, and has been selected several times for the Glass Auction & Gala of the National Liberty Museum of Philadelphia. Along with some painters, in 2017 created the Gallery ACCS Visual Arts in which is a permanent exhibitionist.

My source of inspiration is the cosmos, the universe and its forms. In my last works, through abstraction I let myself be influenced by our planet, nature and its laws. And in the face of the crucial need for environmental care, I am trying to recycle and reuse as much of the glass as possible. Which has become a great challenge for me.
