Sarah Brown graduated in 2010 with a First in Applied Arts. Having worked full time to raise funds to start her own studio she bought a kiln with a bonus from work in 2012, starting her business in 2013.
Since then she has grown her ambitions aspiring to work on a larger scale for public art commissions and architectural projects.
In 2014 Sarah was a participant on the Hothouse programme with the Crafts Council and her practise has grown from there. She loves using illustration within her glass work and experimenting with ways to create depth within a flat piece.
Sarah joined the CGS board in 2015 and hopes to promote glass making to students and assist new makers to continue with glass as a career. With glass courses declining over the UK she feels it is important to try and find ways of keeping the craft alive in the coming years.
