Introductory Fusing

27th February 2016

Suitable for beginners and improvers

Whether you have little or no experience in glass, this is guaranteed to get you “fired up” with finished pieces to take home once cooled.

Discover glass cutting, compatibility, accessories (frit, stringers and confetti) and slumping; learn how glass behaves when heated and cooled, and why some glasses are not compatible with others. Using both clear and coloured glass, you will create either, a fused panel, a bowl or set of coasters.

We can also advise on equipment & materials required to set up your own studio.

This course is run by Kat Walton, who spends most of her time working at a restoration workshop. Her projects are both traditional and contemporary, from fusing to painting and lead work. The course is held at our fully equipped studio at 32 Wellington Park, Dunes Way, Liverpool L5 9RJ.

Each course has a maximum of 5 people giving plenty of opportunity to ask questions whilst looking to other delegates for inspiration & ideas.

You will need to bring a sturdy pair of shoes, as all materials, glass, tools and safety equipment are provided. We also supply refreshments on site and lunch is included at a nearby café
