Glass Blowing Introduction Course

Price: £120 per student
Students will discover the exciting potential of blowing glass and reveal their own creativity by choice of colour and form. During this introduction three hour glass blowing course, students will learn the basic skills of glassmaking and way glass is blown and sculpted in order to make their own series of glass pieces and vessel.
During the course students will be introduced to techniques such as:
Gathering Glass From The Furnace
Shaping and Tooling The Molten Glass
Finishing The Base
The emphasis of the course is to provide a hands-on experience, cover all the basics – gathering the molten glass, blowing, apply basic color, shaping and forming. After a demonstration, which also covers safety and the proper use of tools, students will focus on techniques and then have the opportunity to practice these procedures, gain the confidence to manipulate glass in a variety of ways and make their own works of art. By the end of the workshop each student will produce several unique glass vessels ready for collection the next day or arrange P&P.
