Glass Batik with Lena Beckéus

13th/14th May

We are really excited to announce that Lena Beckéus, is coming all the way from Sweden to teach her unique Batik Glass Technique . Lena is offering 2 X 2 day courses, one weekend, 13th / 14th May, and one Thursday/Fri. Using a combination of powders, frits, micas and enamels, and diverse tools such as stencils, straws, copper wire and piping, palette knives and spray bottles, Lena creates amazing colourful and unique designs.

On this 2 day course you will learn the basics of the batik technique using Bullseye glass. You will be making full fused pieces and pieces with texture which can be slumped. You will also make a test piece using float glass (which gives a different result) If time permits you will also get a chance to try another technique which Lena calls her “water colour” technique, and a technique which is so new it doesn’t even have a name yet!

Rest assured your two days will be fully packed with exciting and innovative creating!
