Nearly fifty Graduates from sixteen colleges entered the CGS Glass Prize & Review 2017. The work was of very high standard and showed the breath of techniques’ and skills needed with this fascinating material.
The selection panel; Cathryn Shilling, Glass Artist & Curator, Alan J. Poole, Glass Collector & Promoter, Michael Barnes, Glass Collector & Sarah Brown Glass Artist, had a hard task selecting the Winners; Highly Commended, plus another eleven graduates to be included in the Review.

The CGS Graduate Review is a 16 page publication, which will be circulated to all C.G.S. Members & Associates, plus through ‘Neues Glas - New Glass: Art & Architecture.’ magazines and promoted by craft & design and ‘CRAFTS’ social media.

This publication will give CGS an opportunity to showcase work from the talented Prize Winners plus work from several more emerging British graduates. It is vital to promote all glass education courses as more and more creative courses are threatened with closure.

We are extremely grateful to all our sponsors who provided financial support and Prizes for the Glass Prize and Graduate Review, without whom this would not have been possible; Prof Michael P Barnes MD FRCP, The Worshipful Company Of Glass Sellers Of London Charity Fund, Warm Glass, Creative Glass UK, Craft & Design, Alan J. Poole, & CRAFTS.
