CGS Glass Business Booster Course

CGS has teamed up with The Design Trust to offer an online programme of workshops designed to improve your business.

The CGS Business Booster Course
This online course is aimed at both new and more established glass artists who want to develop their business and marketing skills, make more sales, improve their presentation and upgrade their level of professionalism.

This course will run between February and May, 2018 with 4 live sessions covering the key aspects to improve your business skills plus two sessions with specialist guest speakers.

Each webinar session is live and audio-visual, accessed through your own computer at home or in your studio. The sessions take place in the evening, to make it really easy to join us. In addition, each session will be recorded and you have access to the entire course for 12 months enabling you to watch them again at a time that suits you.

Participants get access to a private online community hub of fellow glass designers and makers, so that you can both network with them and also ask questions to Patricia and other creatives.

The programme:

1: What’s your business model? – Thursday, 8th February (8pm – 10pm)
Is your glass business sustainable? In this session we talk money - setting financial goals, reviewing pricing and discussing how to position yourself in your market.

2: Marketing fundamentals – Thursday, 1st March (8pm – 10pm)
Not feeling comfortable with marketing yourself? Don’t know where to start? In this session we cover the basic but most powerful marketing principles and activities for creative businesses.

3: Branding & positioning – Thursday, 22nd March (8pm – 10pm)
Want to get to know your ideal clients better and attract and present yourself better to them? In this very practical session you learn how to stand out from the crowd.

4: How to sell more – Thursday, 19th April (8pm – 10pm)
Do you want to sell more to shops, online, at events and get more commissions? In this final ‘teaching’ session we look at just what you need to do to get more sales.

5 and 6: Presentations and Q&A sessions with two professionals within the field of glass. (8pm – 10pm) To complete this professional development programme we
have two sessions with two glass business experts in April and May.
