We hope you will find this section full of useful information, contacts and things that are going on, whether you are an artist, collector, gallery, magazine editor, a student or simply just love glass.

Our next online gallery exhibition is simple- it will explore glass that is either tiny, or huge!
Deadline 30th Jan 2018

Glorious Glass continues to celebrate 20 years of CGS at The Creative Innovation Centre (CIC) Taunton, which is the first venue where we will be displaying glass art work from artists based in the South West, together with a Glass Forum Day and workshops.

The aim of the “Glorious Glass” events is to demonstrate just how utterly glorious and amazing contemporary glass is so that everyone can appreciate and enjoy its magical colours, textures, use of light and variety of techniques and also discover their own local glass artists.

Celebrating 20 Years of the Contemporary Glass Society, this day is an opportunity to hear from 4 glass artists working with a range of different glass techniques. They will talk about their work and what inspires them about Glorious Glass!

Saturday, 24th February, 2018 from 10.00am to 4.00pm
At the Creative Innovation Centre (CIC), Memorial Hall, Paul Street, Taunton, Somerset TA1 3PF

Call to all CGS South West Members
In 2017, the Contemporary Glass Society (CGS) celebrated 20 years since its foundation as the principle supporter and promoter of artists and collectors of contemporary glass in the UK. It now has almost 1,000 members both nationally and internationally.
To continue the celebration of this landmark anniversary and to raise awareness of the glory of contemporary glass, a series of linked exhibitions are being held around Great Britain over the next three years. This circular tour will start and end in the South West.

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you of the sudden and tragic death of our wonderful Amanda Moriarty.
Amanda had been a vital part of CGS for many years and has been an exemplary Treasurer. Those of you who knew Amanda will remember her as a feisty, funny and delightful person who brought an enthusiasm and dedication to everything that she did. We will all miss her greatly.
