I am a hot glass specialist though i manage a workshop which includes kiln working, cold-working and lamp working facilities.
My glass art is progressive and so i never make many of one design. One design informs another.

I completed a BA (Hons) Fine Art in 2010 and am a perpetual student of archaeology. My interdisciplinary work explores the deep past of humanity and treasures unearthed from the journey into the darkness. Dartmoor also inspires my work with its rugged elemental intensity, semi-wild animals and abundant prehistoric monuments.

Moira White

I play with various warm glass techniques, layering the glass with powders, paints and enamels and often incorporating leaves and printed or stencilled designs. Layers of glass replicate the layers and strata of the land – hills, skies, beaches, rivers and seas.

Ruby Comet, cross pollinated - hotshop and kiln

Always enjoyed being creative, I decided on retirement to do something really exciting. Enrolled to a 1 year Glass Technique Diploma course 2010 and found I loved it, now I am happy working in my studio.
The transparency of the glass creating surprising effects with natural lights inspires me. The glass magnifies or distorts images and puts them into a dreamlike state. The childlike effect glass has on me is infectious and boundaries are always stretched by me and glass artists that makes the whole industry fascinating. I love to cross pollinate between kilnformed glass and the hotshop.
