I work in leaded stained glass predominantly to commission designing and making contemporary and traditional windows for domestic and ecclesiastical situations. I teach private classes in my own studio.I also teach at Sussex Coast College, Hastings, East Sussex where I am studying for a PGCE.
My other work involves the use of kiln formed glass and lead sheet, which I have explored the use of for personal exhibition pieces.
With a love of the outdoors, I draw much of my inspiration from forms, patterns, textures and effects found in the natural world. The Limenal Beach Series reflects natural textures caused by the ebb and flow of the tide. The Lattice Frost Bowl Series is directly inspired by frost and snow touched by sunlight emphasizing beauty within a fleeting fragility.
Established for over 25 years, Prisms Glass works to commission for private & corporate clients, as well as Public Arts projects. Commissions include period work, as well as exciting contemporary designs for screens, windows, mirrors, & lighting. 'We use a wide variety of techniques and materials, maintaining a high standard, and encourage client involvement and consultation.
Since establishing my studio in 1999 my practice has been concerned with glass and its ability to transform space. As an artist I work across a broad range of projects both sculptural and in the public realm. My role varies enormously depending on the piece of work. In some cases I am a maker, curator, consultant or collaborator.
