My name is Emma Sandblom, just recently turned 29 and have been working with glass for about 9 years (including two years of Orrefors glass school).
After Orrefors I took of and went to Venice, spent a couple of month and learning Italian and spent all my spare time at Murano, in the end I managed to land a job at a factory called Elite and worked there for a year. After Italy I came to Denmark (Bornholm) and have worked 3 seasons. I worked in New Zealand between these years (2011-2012)where i worked in Taupo at Lava Glass and Auckland with Luke Jacomb. I stayed there for about 1 year and 3 months. I have spent the first half of 2014 in Edinburgh having applied for a master of fine arts in glass at edinburgh college of art. I got accepted but declined student support and did not get any scholarships. Now I am currently in Bornholm at Gudhjem glasrögeri again.
I would really like to work in the Uk and I am soon finishing here in Denmark and hoping that there might be someone looking for an assistant for a period so I figured I would put myself out here and cross my fingers for the best.
I spent over ten years working as a freelance portrait/reportage photographer before studying at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design where I graduated in Glass and Fine Art and Glass and Architecture.
I undertake private commissions at my workshop in East London and work part time as head designer at Lead & Light Studios.
