I studied a variety of ways of working with glass at the International Glass Centre, but the one that has had a lasting impression was the 'pate de verre' process. It has given me a means of working my favorite media - clay and glass.
Award winning glass sculptor, Max Jacquard, exhibits internationally and his work can be seen in several important museum collections including the V&A Museum in London, The Shipley Museum in Gateshead, MAVA in Alcorcon, Madrid and the Shanghai Glass Museum.
He has been a practitioner in Glass for over twenty years and is known for his innovative techniques such as 'Glass Patch-working and 'Core Casting'. He teaches regularly at UCA Farnham and Bildwerk Summer Academy, Frauenau.
I started working in glass about 3 years ago from a background in industrial design and it has more or less taken over my life. The ''what if'' element of glass constantly engages me.
My journey through art has led me to create personal intimate pieces that speak of my concerns for the world. I use print, glass and cast components in the forming my body of work reflects the pervasive influence of technology in our lives
Artist in Residence at the Bristol Eye Hospital, my work used print and glass to explore vision and perception.
Contemporary decorative stained glass in bold colours with a strong graphic aesthetic, hand painted kiln-fired. Inspiration comes from the things around me - vintage children's books, wallpaper and fabric patterns, logos and trademarks, poster art and the natural world.
I work to commission and also sell small items online via Etsy and Folksy and in select shops and galleries. Currently selling through Rostra & Rooksmoor Gallery, Bath and The Stained Glass Museum, Ely
I also work as a stained glass painter on a freelance basis. Contact me if you would like to discuss a project. Examples of my work can be seen on my website at www.stainedglasswindow.info
