Helga Watkins-Baker studied archaeology for her degree before turning to architectural glass, studying in Bristol and then Central St.Martin's College of Art & Design for a postgraduate diploma. She was awarded South West Arts' annual Craft award in 1998 and the Worshipful Company of Glaziers' award for travel in America. Working in kiln formed glass, in 2000 she gained a Masters degree from Wolverhampton University in Glass. Since then she has completed numerous commissions for public and private clients, and teaches glass techniques at degree level as a visiting lecturer at various colleges. Helga co-founded and administers The Glass Hub. Helga joined the CGS Committee in October 2001 and assisted in the organisation of the Dartington workshops in 2002, served on the website sub-committee, conducted research and wrote the CGS South West Research Report in 2005, and became Chair in autumn 2005.She has recently published a book - Kiln Forming Glass - published by the Crowood Press.
