Colour and glass have always fascinated me. Lampworking combines the two and also gives voice to a drive to create that has enriched my life for many years. I am now semi-retired and can devote more time to developing skills as glassworker and silversmith. Me and my work can be seen at Monton handmade market on the first Saturday of each month.
Lampworking begins simply with a rod of glass, a mandrel and a flame. The rest is mainly imagination and skill. My beads are annealed in a specialist kiln before being thoroughly cleaned and made into jewellery. Wherever possible findings are sourced in Britain. As well as silver I use copper, aluminium and pewter. Ear wires are available in sterling silver, copper or titanium on request.
