I grew up in West London, UK, surrounded by an array of fashion, music, art & culture. These influences and my passion to create led me to the art of kiln-formed glass. Having lived in the Middle East for a number of years, my artwork has a modern contemporary look comprising strong geometric lines which are reflected in Islamic patterns. Design is a very important aspect of Arabic culture, and exploring this using the medium of glass is both challenging and exciting.
I am endlessly challenged to transfer my ideas and principles of design to my glasswork. My latest venture is to create an interaction between contemporary design and Islamic design by showcasing the way that Arab women in the Emirates dress, in glass.
