The Changing Lanscape

Initially trained in stained glass Melissa recently graduated !st class Hons from DeMontfort University in Design Crafts where she studied a variety of glass techniques. She now works expressively in a wide range of techniques; traditional leaded stained glass, kiln casting, slumping, sand blasting and fusing. Recent pieces have thematically focused on environmental issues; drinking water pollution, ocean eutrophication, dead zones and ice shelf disintegration.
She was awarded runner up in the New Designers 2012 CGS glass prize & has been short listed for the Libensky Glass prize in Prague.
She will be exhibiting at Young Meteors in Nottingham in November 2012 and is Artist in Residence at DeMontfort University Leicester.
