Karen Murphy

Karen trained in Applied Arts at the University of Hertfordshire, and is an independent glass artist working from a studio at Parndon Mill in Essex where she specialises in kiln formed glass.
Recent commissions include glassware that was presented to Lord MacLaurin on the opening of the new MacLaurin building and a plate that Lord Salisbury presented to Esperanza Aguirre, President of the Madrid Regional Government.
Karen joined the committee in 2007 and has organised the CGS' New Designer's stand in that time – a key strand of our support for students and emerging makers. She also co-ordinates the CGS Prize at New Designers every year.
