Living in North Cornwall, the moors and coast are a constant inspiration for my work.
I have an indomitable desire to produce work which arrests attention and entices people to take a closer look. Intigue is my desire.
I work with both Cast and Fused Glass, with the use of metal inclusions, Pewter, Bronze, Silver and Brass. Combining these materials has been intrinsic in my work, pushing the boundaries of both materials. The excitement of breaking open a mould and revealing the unpredictable.

Sara's entry entitled 'Jewellery for the Home' used an innovative technique, capturing the molten Pewter in fused Glass tiles, which were incorporated into the Pewter Door Furniture.
This Cast Glass Bangle captures for me the beauty of glass that has been worn and weathered by the sea. The feeling of excitement when beach combing for treasures from the deep, the Silver and Brass rivets adding to the 'eroded' feeling of the piece.
The North Cornwall Coast line is rugged and formidable, yet beach glass survives to be washed up as 'Mermaids Tears', as the Cornish call them. This series of Bangles celebrates both the strength of glass as a material and also the srength of emotion it brings out in us when we find that ' little glass treasure' on the beach.

Work 3 Description
Prize winning entry at Pewter Live 2007. Judges chaired by Sebastian Conran.
A series of Door handles, Push plates and cabinet Door knobs.
Using Pewter and Glass in an innovative way, I capture the allure of the molten Pewter inside the Glass, to produce 'pure gems'. My 'Jewellery for the Home' Range stems from my background as a Silversmith and my love of designing for interiors. Scale forms no boundaries for me.
